Former Austrian councillor Elisabeth Sauer, 68, was tragically killed in a shark attack while snorkelling near Hurghada, Egypt. Hassan Al-Tayeb, head of the Hurghada Maritime Rescue Association, reported that the victim was found with severe head injuries.

In a separate incident, Vladimir Popov, 23, was captured on harrowing footage being attacked by a tiger shark while swimming off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. The footage shows Popov frantically trying to fight off the predator, but he sustained significant injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
